So last week it was my 31st birthday. Yesterday was Fogg's 37th birthday. We had a good weekend of fun stuff.
On Wednesday night, we were able to go visit James and Michelle and their new little girl, Gracie, at the hospital. We brought them some sandwiches and sparkling cider to celebrate. She has a full head of black hair and is super tiny. What's crazy is that she was 10 ounces heavier than Nora but I cannot for the life of me remember Nora being so small! Obviously she was but it's crazy how it escapes my brain. I love her name and both James and Michelle were absolutely glowing. So excited to watch her grow up and be besties with Nora. On our way home, we stopped to pick up my first birthday gift of the weekend, a new dirt bike outfit (pants, jersey and gloves) all matching and NOT pink or purple. It's really cute butter yellow and royal blue. I can't wait to wear it and be a styling dirt biker when we go to Moab in a few weeks!
Thursday was my actual birthday. Nothing special really for the day, headed to work after I stopped by Bruges to get me some birthday waffles. Yumm-o! Seriously the best food I put in my belly. They even gave me free strawberries on my belgian chocolate stuffed waffle. When I got home from work, we went to Noodles with the kids for my birthday dinner. Nora was a little angel, happily sitting in the high chair the whole meal. Reed actually ate his meal without too much coercion on our part. Even after he poured soy sauce in his mac and cheese. At dinner, Fogg told me my second gift was that he called my boss and arranged for me to have the day off on Friday! Sweet! He also took the day off so we got to spend the day together (kid free)! The best part of the day was that Reed looked at me when I got home and said "Mommy, you so pretty". Seriously the best thing ever. I almost cried and gave him big hugs and told him thank you very much that he made me very happy. Then he said "you my best friend". Seriously, does it get better than that? Not really.
Friday we dropped the kids off at daycare and went about running a bunch of errands and having a little fun. We did boring things like grocery shopping and Costco. We also got a new weed-wacker and I got some new workout clothes. We stopped at a few stores to just look around too. Then we had lunch and went go-cart racing. Fogg won but my goal was to not let him lap me - which he didn't. We got to pick up my Honda from the shop (got a brand new motor cause mine blew up). We spent the afternoon cleaning up around the house and washing cars.
On Saturday Fogg and I went dirtbiking! I haven't been in like 4 years so it was fun to get out again. Another fun day to just spend with my hubby. Sunday afternoon Fogg went dirt biking with a friend and I hung out with my kiddos.
Monday was Fogg's birthday. I made him dinner (but it was pretty much the same as every other dinner). We used our new grill that we got a few month ago on a super deal. It's pretty fancy so I can't wait to use it more this summer and use all the features (like a veggie grill basket). I gave him a pair of shoes that I think he will like. After the kids went to bed, he said he got us both a gift. A new tablet! I asked for a kindle fire but he did some research (as he always does) and found this one was better. It's an Acer Android tablet. I still have to figure it out but I'm super excited about it! Yay! What a fun birthday weekend!
Sorry I don't have any new pictures of my kids. Rest assure that they are still super cute and funny. Nora is getting bigger and smarter by the day. I think that she is going to cut some teeth soon, it seems like I might see some teeth below her gums on the bottom. She is sitting up better and better, starting to grab for almost everything. She loves her mesh feeder with a banana in it. When I bring it to her she sticks her hands out and started grunting for it. Then she just mows on it for a long time. Last night, she never dropped it. Reed has been saying funny things too, as usual. We have been working on the word "obey" lately. I'm kinda getting tired of saying the same thing 3 or 4 times before he reacts. We are going to fix that now, I ask him "what does the word obey mean? It means listen and react" . I'm also trying to teach him more information (he knows his first and last name, where he lives and how old he is). He also has the big obsession with hangers. He will go into his closet and get all the unused hangers that I throw on the floor. He will hang them all over his room and anything he can, bedside table, bed, dresser, door knobs. Last night he wouldn't go to bed until all of them were actually in bed with him. He sees them and has to carry them around saying they are his cupcake. He freaked out once when I removed one to close his door. His imagination is growing and has been wanting me to play out stories with him. The other day it was me using the helicopter as rocket and him using an airplane as big jet (rocket and big jet are characters in his favorite cartoon Little Einsteins). We played out a situation where big jet fell and rocket helped him. He got mad when my attention was distracted. It's fun to play with him and help him grow his imagination even more.
Well, that's all for now, have a great week!
