We had a birthday party for Reed and we combo'd it with our friend Mardi and Ryan and their little girl Brinnley. Brinn was born just 4 days after Reed, her birthday was actually Sunday. So we did one big party for the two of them on Saturday. The plan was to have it at the park near my house, but at the last minute (ok the last 45 minutes) it started raining and the temp dropped a ton so it was going to be pretty uncomfortable outside. Though it would have been more spacious, people would have been miserable! So we changed it over to our house with only a half hour to spare. I think we pulled off the quick changeover and to my knowledge, we didn't lose anyone in the move! Here are the birthday kiddo's:
We got everything set up and ready to roll by the time the first people arrived. We were able to have a nice play area in the living room for all the little kiddos.
We also had lots of yummy food. Here are the massive amount of cupcakes we had:
And custom double-decker 4" cakes made by Fran. They didn't have a lot of surface area for the names, but they were cute anyway!
Brinn was less than thrilled about the whole thing. She was tired anyway (as you can see by the picture above of the two of them) then we stuck this hat on her head, lit a candle in front of her, and had a ton of people staring at her singing. She cried, the poor thing! She didn't eat any of the cake, but her mom and dad did ;)...
Here are the daddy's with their birthday kids!
Then it was on to presents. Many of our guests had left at that point (which was fine, it calmed down a bit). Brinn had finished and was enjoying the best part of her gifts - the paper. Reed was just holding the gift over his head (maybe like Johnny Carsen used to?).
Cheers~
